Great news! The first two apps we built using AppBaker and submitted to Apple have now been approved! We have the green light from Apple in two key areas: the type of apps we can build and the way we ‘bundle’ them for submission.
You can see the two apps we built right now:
- CY Cinema Guide http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/cy-cinema-guide/id385454899?mt=8
- Cyprus Pharmacies Guide http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/cyprus-pharmacies-guide/id384058860?mt=8
The Cinema Guide is a really cool app that enables users to make a date to see Cameron Diaz or Tom Cruise (or indeed any other Hollywood stars!) at their local cinemas. For those who have or will soon get access to AppBaker, this app is really a showcase of how “folder screens” are used to provide extensive drilldown functionality within the app.
The Pharmacies Guide is for local Cyprus users (it’s in Greek!) but it nevertheless showcases some really cool Google mapping features to help users locate the nearest pharmacy. This ‘geotagging’ could easily be applied to a number of different apps that can be built easily using AppBaker.
So what’s next?
Armed with our Apple approval, we’re now opening up access to the beta service so that we can get feedback from users that will help us further develop our powerful Web-based platform for building and managing native, custom-branded iPhone and iPod touch apps.
We thought we’d use the summer downtime to evaluate this valuable feedback and also use the time to create a complete set of documentation for AppBaker. A full-on launch isn’t too far away now, we promise!
